Announcing the 6th Annual Salute the Military Race Day Event!
Armed Forces Day – On Saturday, May 17th the 6th Annual "Barona Race Day Salute to the Military" will be hosted! The past 5 years have been such a success for our military families and local drag racers that we are back for another exciting year of racing! Military families will be treated to an experience that you cannot find anywhere else in San Diego. Barona Race Track offers a 1/8 Mile Drag Strip where all the action will take place.
This is a special event for military families who live in Lincoln Military Housing. These "spectators" will be treated to lunch, additional snacks, children's activities, T-shirts, a family photo and much more all for FREE.
There will be a ceremony held to Salute the Military and their family members for their support and sacrifice. More details to be announced.
"What an experience! I have never been to a drag racing event and our family had the best time! With my husband away, this was the perfect event to take my 3 children to! Thank you for all the free food, t-shirts, and we are going to send our family photo in our next care package!" - The Duncan Family, 2013 event attendees
Salute Our Military Ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will feature the MCRD Color Guard, Patriot Guard Riders, and National Anthem.

The Boot Campaign is a national 501c3 nonprofit that is dedicated to showing tangible appreciation of our active military, raising awareness of the challenges they face upon return and supporting their transition home. The Boot Campaign cultivates awareness, promotes patriotism, and provides assistance to military, past and present, and their families. Through the sale of its signature military combat boots, general public donations, and corporate sponsorship, the Boot Campaign operates five distinct initiatives -- Jobs, Housing, Wellness, Urgent Assistance and Family Support-- that are caring for military personnel, past and present, healing from a variety of physical and emotional combat wounds, embodying the campaign motto that, "When They Come Back, We Give Back". www.BootCampaign.com
