Armed Forces Day – On Saturday, May 19th the 4th Annual "Barona Race Day Salute to the Military" will be hosted! Last year was such a success for our Military families and local drag racers that we are back for another exciting year of racing! Military families will be treated to an experience that you cannot find anywhere else in San Diego. Barona Race Track offers a 1/8 Mile Drag Strip where all the action will take place.
This is a special event for military families who live in Lincoln Military Housing. These "spectators" will be treated to lunch, additional snacks, children's activities, T-shirts, a family photo and much more all for FREE.
There will be a ceremony held to Salute the Military and their family members for their support and sacrifice. More details will be announced!
"My children have never experienced the excitement of racing and they cannot stop talking about all the cool cars, the friendly drivers, the activities they were able to participate in, and all the yummy food. I have the family photo to remember this day forever. I cannot thank Lincoln enough for putting on this event. With my husband on deployment, this really helped to bring some happiness and fun into our family" said the Jacob's family, 2011 event attendees.
We are excited to announce the addition of a live band during the lunch break. Don't miss a live performance by Tracii Guns, of "Guns 'n Roses" and "L.A. Guns" performing with his new band "League of Gentlemen!"
Don't miss the Jet Car Exhibition on the Track at 12:15 p.m. and again at 5:00 p.m.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation. Last year we raised over $12,000. Let's see what we can do this year!
Drivers: There is $5,000 in prize money this year and all 1st place winners will receive an event logo trophy to take home! Race Form Deadline has been extended to May 11th, go to driver section to fill out form.
